ANTIQUE ROYAL DOULTON LAMBETH DEWAR'S WHISKEY DISTILLERY 6 1/2" JUG PITCHER

Description

This auction is for a vintage Doulton Lambeth earthenware pitcher or jug.  It was made as an advertising pitcher for John Dewar and Sons Limited Distillery, Perth NB.  It has an applied white relief scenes including a hunting scene, a tavern scene, a windmill and some trees.  It measures 6 1/2" to the top of the handle, 3 1/2" from spout across the rim and 3 1/2" wide across the base.  It has the Doulton Lambeth England imprint and the number 6768.  The is the imprint of what look like the letter I as well.  The top portion of the pitcher is a deep green to brown color and below that in raised letters is reads Dewar's Perth Whiskey.  Below that the jug becomes a mustard color with a white relief jasperware style design,  The front of the pitcher reads "By Royal Warrant to Her Majesty the Queen."  It is in excellent condition and a wonderful piece of  vintage Doulton Lambeth pottery and of vintage Distillery advertising.
